The NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is a globally recognised health & safety qualification that is held by more than 100,000 people in the UK and world-wide

Objectives

What does the course cover?


It covers the main legal requirements for safety in the UK, a range of workplace hazards, and methods of control.

The Certificate syllabus is based on the Employment National Training Organisation (ENTO) standards. These are reviewed regularly to keep up with developments in the workplace and legislation.

What kind of people take the NEBOSH National General Certificate?


Managers, Supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. The certificate helps them manage risk effectively. Many people take the NEBOSH Certificate as a first step on a career in health & safety. It provides a valuable overview, and is a sound basis for further professional study.

Aim

Is the NEBOSH Certificate a recognised qualification?


A NEBOSH Certificate is accepted by IOSH – in meeting the academic requirements for Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH). It is also accepted by yhe institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM) for associate membership.

• Construction Activities

Training Method

How is the course assessed?


Candidates are assessed with written examinations for each of the two taught units. A unit certificate is issued denoting successful achievement of each unit. A certificate award parchment is issued on completion of the two units and the practical assessment
