On completion of the course, delegates shall be competent in:-
 Understanding current legislation regarding confined space entry.
 Recognising types of confined spaces and their associate hazards.
 Organising and implementing appropriate accident and emergency procedures.
 The safe use and maintenance of escape breathing apparatus.

Any individuals who hold a current Confined Space Certificate that is coming up for renewal.

 Definition and types of confined spaces.
 Current legislation.
 Confined space hazards.
 Permits to work.
 Safe working procedures – including local water company procedures.
 Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment.
 Access Equipment – Tripods, Winches, Safety Harnesses.
 Breathing Apparatus – Escape sets.
 Accident/Emergency Procedures and Self-rescue.

Highly participative with practical exercises in confined space preparation and access, self rescue. The course is delivered with a powerpoint presentation and concludes with a multi-choice test paper

All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment.
Safety shoes / boots
Overalls
Gloves
Hardhat

Delivery can take place on clients sites provided there is a suitable facility for the practical element of the course. Training on 'live situations' is not permited.
A classroom facility is also required for the theory session.

Maximum of six.
Individual delegates can attend the open courses run at our Centre in Wakefield.
