Objectives
On completion of the course, delegates shall be competent in:-
Understanding current legislation regarding confined space entry.
Recognising types of confined spaces and their associate hazards.
Organising and implementing appropriate accident and emergency procedures.
The safe use and maintenance of escape breathing apparatus.
Who For
Any individuals who hold a current Confined Space Certificate that is coming up for renewal.
Course Content
Definition and types of confined spaces.
Current legislation.
Confined space hazards.
Permits to work.
Safe working procedures – including local water company procedures.
Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment.
Access Equipment – Tripods, Winches, Safety Harnesses.
Breathing Apparatus – Escape sets.
Accident/Emergency Procedures and Self-rescue.
Training Method
Highly participative with practical exercises in confined space preparation and access, self rescue. The course is delivered with a powerpoint presentation and concludes with a multi-choice test paper
Safety Equipment
All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment.
Safety shoes / boots
Overalls
Gloves
Hardhat
Onsite Requirements
Delivery can take place on clients sites provided there is a suitable facility for the practical element of the course. Training on 'live situations' is not permited. A classroom facility is also required for the theory session.
