CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection
This course is intended for persons responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
The overall aim is to develop in trainees an understanding of scaffold components, forms of construction and inspection procedures of basic access scaffolds and to comply with current legislation and Codes of Practice.
The course will give trainees an understanding of:

- Work at Height Regulations 2005
- Regulations & Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs)

- Means of Access

Who For
This course is intended for persons responsible for inspecting and checking scaffolds for safe use and for signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations. We would expect delegates to have some awareness and experience of scaffolding structures, which would have come from their time in their individual industry sector e.g. construction, engineering, manufacturing, offshore etc.

Training Method
The successful achievement of the above training objectives will be demonstrated using the following assessment methods:- Practical Test (pass mark 100%)
- Written Tset (pass mark 80%)
Safety Equipment
All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment:- Overalls / Work clothes
- Gloves
- Safety shoes/boots
- Hard Hat (This will only be used if other scaffold is erected on site)
Number of delegates
As little as 1 delegate on our open scheduled courses. In-company courses can be arranged for a minimum or 8 and accommodate a maximum of 12Certification
Delegates who successfully complete a CISRS Basic SITS Course will be issued with a certificate of attendance as a record of their training. Upon completion of a CSkills H&S test, they will be eligible to apply for a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Card.
Note
This course meets the criteria for CITB grants.The UTN administration section will give full support for the application of this grant.
