CISRS Basic Scaffolder Part 1
Training course for candidates who have gained a minimum of 6 months experience within the scaffolding industry.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
- Have an understanding of the statutory regulations
- Have the knowledge and skill to be able to safely erect, as a member of a team, the various scaffold structures listed in the course content
- Work towards gaining a CISRS trainee card and an NVQ Level 2

- Independent Tied Scaffold
- Putlog Scaffold
- Birdcage Scaffold
- Static Tower
- Mobile Tower
- Hoist Tower
- Proprietary Systems
- Getting the knowledge and skill to be able to safely dismantle the scaffolds in their correct sequence, as a member of a team.
Training method
A highly participative course, with practical sessions to compliment the classroom theory session.Delegates attending this card will achieve a trainee card. To progress their training, delegates will need to return after 6 months and attend a ten day Basic Part 2 Course.
Six months later delegates will need to attend a one-day assessment.
This training along with their completed and signed off NVQ level 2 portfolio will ultimately gain them a basic scaffolders card.

All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment.- Safety shoes / boots

- Hardhat
- Overalls/work clothes
- Tool belt & Frogs
- Harness
- Scaffold Spanner

Certification
The delegate who successfully completes this course will recieve an accredited CISRS certificate and a CISRS trainee card.Note
This course meets the criteria for CITB grants.The UTN administration section will give full support for the application of this grant plus advise for health and safety touch screen tests.
