CISRS Basic Scaffolder Part 2
Course for trainee scaffolders who have completed a Basic Part 1 course with at least six months on site experience.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
- Have an understanding of the statutory regulations
- Have the knowledge and skill to be able to safely erect, as a member of a team, the various scaffold structures listed in the course content.
- Working towards gaining a CISRS card and an NVQ Level 2.

Course content
This course gives the attendees both theoretical and practical knowledge to enable them to erect and dismantle complex and design scaffold.- Assessment of skills and experience of Basic Part 1 jobs
- Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice
- Interpretation of drawings
- Erect and dismantle complex scaffolds
- Independent scaffold with bridging
- Protective fan
- Truss out
- Cantilever drop
- Pavement gantries
- Roof saddle/stack
- Sheeting of scaffolds
- Safe use and Inspection of Safety Harnesses
Training method
A highly participative course with practical sessions to compliment the classroom theory session.This course will be carried out at our own CITB approved training centre.
Safety equipment
All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment:- Overalls/work clothes
- Gloves
- Safety shoes/boots
- Hard Hat
- Tool belt and Frogs
- Harness
- Scaffold Spanner
- Level
- Tape measure
Number of delegates
As little as 1 delegate on the open courses, up to a maximum of nine.Certification
The delegate who successfully completes this course will recieve an accredited CISRS certificate.The delegate does not recieve a CISRS basic scaffolder card, this is given once the candidate successfully completes their portfolio and NVQ Level 2 practical assessment.
Note
This course meets the criteria for CITB grants.The UTN administration section will give full support for the application of this grant plus advice for health and safety touch screen tests.
