Confined Space Refresher course for any individuals who hold a current Confined Space Entry Certificiate that is coming up for renewal at it's 3 year period.

Course Content

  • Definition and types of confined spaces.
  • Current legislation.
  • Confined space hazards.
  • Permits to work.
  • Safe working procedures – including local water company procedures.
  • Hygiene and Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Access Equipment – Tripods, Winches, Safety Harnesses.
  • Breathing Apparatus – Escape sets.
  • Accident/Emergency Procedures and Self-rescue.

Objectives

On completion of the course, delegates shall be competent in:-

  • Understanding current legislation regarding confined space entry.
  • Recognising types of confined spaces and their associate hazards.
  • Organising and implementing appropriate accident and emergency procedures.
  • The safe use and maintenance of escape breathing apparatus.

Training Method

Highly participative with practical exercises in confined space preparation and access, self rescue. The course is delivered with a powerpoint presentation and concludes with a multi-choice test paper.

Safety Equipment

All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment.

  • Safety shoes / boots
  • Overalls
  • Gloves
  • Hardhat

Certification

The delegate who successfully completes this course will recieve an in-house UTN card, valid for 3 years.  An additional UTN certificate can be provided for an extra £10.

Note

This course meets the criteria for CITB grants.
