Full Details

What kind of people take the NEBOSH Construction Conversion?

The NEBOSH Construction Conversion is aimed at people who currently hold the NEBOSH National General Certificate (NGC1) and wish to add the National Construction Certificate to their qualifications.

The delegate attending this course must have passed their NGC1 within 5 years of taking the Construction exams involved in this course.

Is the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate a recognised qualification?

This qualification is accepted by IOSH – the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health – in meeting academic requirements for Technical Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH). It is also accepted by The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (llRSM) for associate membership (AllRSM).

What does the course cover?

It covers a broad range of construction hazards and the means by which they can be controlled. It includes the many legal requirements relating to construction work and enables students to undertake effective safety inspections on a construction site.

The NEBOSH Construction Conversion consists of two units; each separately assessed.

How is the course assessed?

Students are assessed with a written examination for NCC1.  NCC2 is assessed by a practical examination, testing the ability to identify health and safety issues in a construction workplace.  NCC2 needs to be taken within 14 days of a written examination. A unit of credit is issued denoting successful completion of all two units.

Certification

The delegate who successfully completes this course will receive a NEBOSH certificate for every unit they pass and an additional overall certificate if they pass the full 2 units.
