Course for candidates who have attended the Advanced Training course and have acquired the necessary level of practical experience.

Course content

The trainee’s competence will be assessed in the following areas:
  • Interpreting instructions and information.
  • Producing material lists and method statements.
  • Selecting and checking components.
  • The practical erection and dismantling of drop and shoring scaffolds.
Through questioning it will be possible to infer competence across the remaining structures in the relevant NVQ Units.

Training method

The majority of the assessment is based on practical exercises with a small proportion of assessing theory.

Equipment required

All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment:
  • Safety shoes / boots
  • Gloves
  • Hardhat
  • Fluorescent jacket/waistcoat
  • Toolbelt & Frogs
  • Harness
  • Scaffold Spanner
  • Level
  • Tape Measure
  • 2 x Passport Photos

Requirments

The candidate wishing to enrol onto this course must have:
  • Fully completed their advanced portfolio
  • Held their basic scaffold card for a minimum of a year

Certification

The delegate who successfully completes this course will recieve an accredited CISRS certificate and a CISRS advanced scaffolder card.

Note

This course meets the criteria for CITB grants. CITB registered companies will be able to claim £26 per person per day for this course.  In addition an achievement grant of £630 is available to successful candidates.
A total of £682 is available for delegates who successfully complete.

The UTN administration section will give full support for the application of this grant.
