Course for all persons involved in working at heights including managers, supervisors & operatives
Objectives
To enable delegates to:- Promote safety wherever employed working at height.
- Reduce major injuries and accidents from working at heights.
- Ensure compliance with all well-established safety procedures and all current relevant legislation.

Course content
- Introduction to Work at Heights Regulations
- Access and Egress, Loading Places
- Ladders
- Landing Places
- Openings, Corners, Breaks, Edges and Joisting.
- Roof Work (Flat roofs/Sloping roofs/Steep roofs etc.)
- Fragile Roofing Materials
- Work over Water
- Safety Nets, Belts and Harnesses.
- Equipment for working at height: Scaffold, MEWPS, Towers
- SG4:05 Requirements for Scaffolders
Training method
Power point presentation, videos, case studies and class interactionEquipment required
All delegates should have available & bring with them the following safety equipment:- Safety shoes / boots
- Gloves
- Hardhat
- Fluorescent jacket/waistcoat
On site Requirements
Training can either be carried out either in UTN’s Training Centre or on a customers premises, where a room large enough for theory session with electrical supply for the use of Television, laptop & projector.Number of delegates
As little as one on our scheduled open courses.In-company course can be arranged for a minimum of eight delegates and accommodate a maximum of twelve.
Certification
The delegate who successfully completes this course will recieve an in-house UTN certificate.Note
This course meets the criteria for CITB grants. CITB registered companies will be able to claim £26 per person for this course.The UTN administration section will give full support for the application of this grant.
UTN provide each delegate with a buffet on all our full day courses.
