The IPAF PAL+ VR (IPAF PAL Plus VR) is an additional one day category-specific course aimed at trained IPAF operators who work in high risk or challenging environments. It makes use of virtual reality (VR) technology via a virtual reality simulator to deliver the course.
Why a Virtual Reality (VR) Simulator?
A virtual reality simulator allows someone to experience both visual and audio input, in order to re-create a real setting or event. The IPAF PAL+ VR course simulates the real world and essentially takes the person out of the risky area to allow for training, testing and evaluation in a safe environment.
To attend this course delegates must hold a valid IPAF Operators PAL Card.
Duration: 1 Day
The course is aimed at trained IPAF operators who work in higher risk or challenging environments, e.g. steelwork, work in confined overhead spaces, and work on challenging terrain. The IPAF PAL+ VR training is open to operators who hold an existing PAL Card qualification in the relevant category.
The IPAF PAL+ VR course is a simulator training only course, no training will take place on actual MEWPs, and the categories which can be covered are IPAF 3a+ and 3b+.
