Mental Health Training - Overview
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is internationally recognised training which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first-aid basis.
MHFA England Training will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.
Every MHFA England course is delivered by a quality-assured Instructor Member who has attended the Instructor Training programme accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health and is trained to keep people safe and supported while they learn.

Mental Health Awareness Half Day
Delegates will gain an understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma.
The MHFA half-day Mental Health Awareness is an introductory course designed to increase mental health awareness and understand how to look after the well-being and challenge stigma. When you complete your course, you will get a certificate of attendance and a manual to keep and refer to whenever needed.

Mental Health First Aid 1-Day
Delegates will gain an understanding of common mental health illnesses and be given the confidence to promote mental health awareness. Ideal for line managers, the one-day mental health first aid course is for those wanting to gain awareness of mental illness and enable them to understand common mental health illnesses to support their own mental health and the well-being of colleagues.
This course is suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of workplace mental health, detect early symptoms of common mental health illnesses and develop the skills to support their own and others’ positive well-being.
Mental Health First Aid 2- Day
Delegates will get a deep understanding of what mental health is and what factors can affect well-being. This two-day Mental Health First Aid course aims to enable candidates to recognise the signs of mental ill health and give them the practical skills needed to support somebody experiencing mental health issues. The course also aims to raise awareness and reduce mental health stigma and offers successful candidates the successful Mental Health First Aider qualification. The two-day mental health first aid course is for those wanting to become a certified mental health first aider for their organisation. Certificate holders can recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health illnesses and effectively guide a colleague towards the proper support. It is recommended an organisation has a similar number of mental health first aiders to medical first aiders, ideally a different individual providing further resilience for colleagues in the workplace.
