Overview:

This CITB SSSTS online course is intended for those who have, or are about to acquire, supervisory responsibilities. It provides supervisors with an understanding of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will highlight the requirement to promote Health & Safety to supervise effectively over 2 days.

The CITB SSSTS online course is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites.

Who Should Attend

The course aims to ensure that all those given supervisory responsibilities understand:

  • Why they are carrying out their identified duties

  • What is expected of them

  • To ensure that they contribute to the safety of the workplace

Candidates under the age of 18 must provide written consent from a parent or guardian to attend the course. Please contact us if you require a parental consent form to complete prior to the course commencing.

 

Course Content

The SSSTS course online will cover the following topics;

  • Health & Safety at Work Act

  • The Role of the Supervisor

  • Behavioural Safety in the Workplace

  • PPE

  • Site Inductions & Toolbox Talks

  • Risk assessments and the need for method statements

  • Monitor site activities effectively

 

Final Qualification

On successful completion of the course the delegates are awarded the Construction Industry Training Board (Site Safety Plus) Certificate in PDF format. This will be sent electronically to the course booker.

 

Additional Information

It is mandatory that you attend both days of this remote course.

You will need access to a laptop or PC computer with a webcam, microphone and speaker; some tablets can run Microsoft Teams, so please check your hardware prior to booking your course.

Course publications will be provided electronically prior to the course commencing.

Photographic ID is required at course commencement (Passport, Photo card Driving License or CSCS photo Card)

At the end of this virtual SMSTS course delegates are required to sit an exam consisting of 25 questions, The exam will be delivered via Microsoft Forms (no special software is required). These will be completed in groups of 6 candidates per exam sitting.
