Our experienced and fully qualified trainers deliver a wide range of courses from approved bodies such as CITB, IPAF, PASMA, IOSH & NEBOSH. Some of the courses delivered include SSSTS, SMSTS, CITB Site Safety Plus, New Road and Street Works, NEBOSH General and IOSH Managing Safely courses (and more) and provide it in the usual AFI Way – professionally, with a smile.

UTN History

UTN Training was established in 1996 to meet a specific need within the Construction Industry to ensure that Public Utilities Companies and their contractors received adequate training to comply with the New Roads & Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA).

Following on from the success of this specific training, UTN expanded rapidly to meet customers’ needs, with the many and varied requests for general and safety training within other industries, as well as expanding its portfolio of Construction Skills training, such as Plant Operation. More recently, UTN introduced more Management training courses for SMSTS, IOSH and NEBOSH.

AFI group of companies

AFI-Uplift acquired UTN Training and, with the acquisition of other training businesses, has seen a rapid expansion in the training industry, providing courses such as Working at Height, Abrasive Wheels, Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness, Site Safety, First Aid, Confined Spaces and New Roads & Street Works.

The AFI group of companies aims to be a leading provider of training to businesses and government agencies in the areas of not only construction skills, but of safety and health and personal development.

Future

As part of the AFI group of companies, we have gone from strength to strength, expanding and improving our courses as we develop. We have also recently seen rapid course expansion, and the COVID-19 pandemic has enabled us to bring forward plans for increased digital engagement, such as our online IPAF courses and CITB courses.

These developments ensure that we are continually at the forefront of the powered access training industry, and we cannot wait for what the future brings. We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and being the best training company, we can be - by creating a lasting culture of safety in the industrial sector.
