RoSPA Introduction to Managing Health and Safety Online

The Online Managing Safely course is aimed at managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation who wish to learn more about turning uncontrolled hazards into controlled risks. As an employee, you are responsible for your own wellbeing and that of your colleagues who may be affected by your actions. You must also co-operate with employers and co-workers who help meet their legal requirements. Through identification, solution, and evaluation, this course will teach you how to implement a health and safety management system for your organisation.

 

Course Duration:

1 hour - 1.30 minutes depending on module taken. However, the course is designed to go at the pace of the learner and can be completed in more time if needed.

 

Assessment:

The online assessment for each module consists of multiple-choice questions and will take approximately 30 minutes depending on the module being completed. To be successful, you must achieve a 75% or above pass mark to obtain the certificate.

 

Results:

Delegates who successfully complete the online and practical assessments at the end of the course are awarded a RoSPA award.

IOSH Managing Safely Online Course

The Online IOSH Managing Safely course is aimed at managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. The course content is designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in the area under their responsibility. Managers will gain a broad based knowledge of health and safety and safe systems of work.

E-Learning Course Objectives:

  • It is an entry-level course that not only drives the importance of working safely but also teaches delegates or learners to develop a skill to spot hazards and risks

  • Identification of common hazards, including noise, slips and falls

  • Improving safety performance — bridging the gap between management and the workforce, with a focus on contract work, emergency procedures, health checks, etc.

  • Reducing environmental impact, and how employees can get involved in the process

  • The course is 100% online so no need to attend a classroom

Course Content:

Our online training course is split into seven modules:

  • An introduction to managing safely

  • Assessing risks

  • Controlling risks

  • Understanding your responsibilities

  • Understanding common hazards

  • Investigating incidents

  • Measuring performance

Course Duration:

24 hours eLearning, with a period of 6 months for completion. There will also be a 40 mins online exam and a 1 hour practical assessment on site.

Assessment:

The course is 100% online including the exam which can be taken at the student leisure; questions are multiple choice questions with a workplace assessment completed by the student and uploaded to the eLearning platform.

Results:

Delegates who successfully complete the online and practical assessments at the end of the course are awarded an IOSH certificate in Managing Safely.

Managing and Handling Stress at Work

Having completed this course, the learner will understand: what stress is; the consequences of stress; recognising stress; the causes of stress; managing the causes of stress; and handling stress.

 
Managing Workplace Transport Health and Safety Risks

The course will enable the learner to reduce workplace transport health and safety risks, including risks to the safety of those driving on work-related business.

 

Preventing Bullying in the Workplace

This course will teach you how to recognise bullying behaviour, identify the probable cause or causes and take appropriate action to stop it.

RSI - Repetitive Strain Injury

Having completed this course, you will be able to undertake your job tasks in such a way that the risk of you contracting a Repetitive Strain Injury is reduced significantly.

This course will enable you to adopt the attitudes, procedures and techniques necessary to safely lift, and handle loads of all types.

 

Safe Working with Workplace Transport

The course will enable the learner to ensure they are able to ensure safe working practices when using or working with or near workplace transport.

 

Staying Safe in Confined Spaces

This course will enable the learner to recognise the dangers of confined spaces and work safely within them, where necessary complying with the Confined Spaces Regulations 1997.

  

Staying Safe with Electricity

This course will enable you to identify electrical hazards and remove or reduce the risk they present.

  

Staying Safe with Hazardous Substances

By the end of the course, the learner will be able to: describe the risks arising from the use of hazardous substances, and list appropriate steps to remove or reduce such risks.

  

Staying Safe with Noise

This course will enable the learner to understand the effects of excessive noise on hearing and list the appropriate safety precautions to avoid damage to hearing by excessive noise.
