The CITB Site Safety Plus Scheme provides the construction, building, civil engineering and related industries with a range of courses for people seeking to develop and refresh skills in this area. We offer a range of populare CITB courses, including SMSTS,SSSTS and refresher courses.
SMSTS course - Site Management Safety Training Scheme
Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate;
Designed for Site Managers, Agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce.
Construction Skills Site Safety Plus Certificate;
For anyone currently holding a valid SMSTS certificate and has to renew that’s up for renewal. The certificate has to be renewed every five years.

New Roads & Streetworks (NRSWA)
NRSWA training places a duty on any person or organisation undertaking work involving the installation, renewal, maintenance or inspection of underground apparatus in any street or road to ensure that work is under the control of competent persons. Our street work courses include:
NRSWA Operatives - Cold Lay (LA, O1-O5 and O8)
SWQR Card Qualification;
Designed for operatives who carry out excavation, backfill and reinstatement of various materials for undertaking street works.
NRSWA Operatives - Hot Lay (LA, O1-O6 and O8)
SWQR Card Qualification;
Designed for operatives who carry out excavation, backfill and reinstatement of various materials for undertaking street works.
NRSWA Supervisors (LA S1-S5 & S7)

NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding - Operative
CABWI Certificate and SWQR Card;
Designed for all operatives employed by local authorities, utilities and their contractors to sign, light and guard any road works in the highway. This course will certificate the successful candidate to undertake the setting out of traffic lights, signs, cones and barriers.
NRSWA Signing, Lighting and Guarding - Supervisor
CABWI Certificate and SWQR Card;
Designed for supervisory staff employed by local authorities, utilities and their contractors for the purpose of Signing, Lighting & Guarding of any road works in the highway. This course will certificate the successful candidate to undertake the setting out of traffic lights, signs, cones and barriers.
SWQR Card;
Designed for operatives and supervisors who have experience of working on highways and who already hold a current SWQR card that requires renewing.
Signing Lighting & Guarding Re-assessment - Units 002 & 010
CABWI Certificate and SWQR Card;
Operatives whose SWQR card is due to or has expired by a period no greater then two months past the expiry date.

The NEBOSH National Certificate diploma in Construction Health and Safety is a globally recognised health and safety qualification specifically for the construction industry, aimed at Supervisors, Managers and CDM co-ordinators who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely. What Construction Management courses do we offer?
We provide Health & Safety training for management through the CITB SMSTS course - Site Management Safety Training Scheme
We offer Level 6 Construction NVQs through our other training division ITS Training. Once those who are working at a managerial level and have achieved either a construction related NVQ level 5, 6, or 7 in the relevant area or are holding a pre-existing NVQ level 4 in construction management can then apply for their Black CSCS card.
